WOW The Burning Crusade Explained

The Burning Crusade was released simultaneously in North America, Europe, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia on January 16, 2007, and on one day later on January 17, 2007 in Australia and New Zealand.  It break the one day sales record to become the fastest selling computer game ever in North America and Europe, with a worldwide total of nearly 2.4 million copies sold in the first 24 hours of availability.

The Burning Crusade is basically an upgrade to the current WOW game.  So current WOW gamers will only need to buy the basic expansion.  Players new to WOW will need to buy both the original WOW game plus The Burning Crusade. 

A collectors edition of The Burning Crusade will also be available.  It will include additional items such as a mouse pad, soundtrack CD, hardcover art book, and a behind the scenes DVD.

The Burning Crusade expansion will add two new races; Blood Elves for the Horde faction and Draenei for the Alliance.  The level cap will be raised from 60 to 70.  A new  profession called Jewelcrafting will be added.  Hundreds of new items and quests will be available.  Their is going to be new dungeons,  starting zones,  flying mounts, and a new continent called Outland.

The PvP honor system will be improved and an arena-based player vs. player ladder system will be added.
